- Phased renovation
- Variety of medical spaces including pharmacy, surgery, and cardio/pulmonary
Cator, Ruma & Associates provided mechanical, electrical, and technology design for the Vail Health Hospital West Wing renovation and expansion which includes 84,000 square feet of several departments and spaces including but not limited to: the conference center, lobby, administrative offices, pharmacy, cardio and pulmonary, pcu/icu, surgery, and clinic.
Three 300-ton high-efficiency air cooled units will be located on the roof. The boiler basis of design was a redundant system of modular units for heating water and steam. The fuel oil tank was direct bury, located south east of the new central utility plant. Air handling units (AHUs) were custom air units with vestibules, chilled water coils, heating water coils, fan wall arrays, and filtration per the FGI Guidelines. The AHUs utilize new shafts outside the existing floor plan area for backfeeding the existing units. Existing electrical generators were removed and replaced with one larger generator.
