These projects were design-build, and the goal of the projects was to provide air conditioning and enhanced performance for the schools. At South High School, the system used was a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with Dedicated Outside Air Units (DOAS) with air-to-air energy recovery for ventilation. The VRF system was a heat recovery type to provide simultaneous heating and cooling to spaces served by each condensing unit.
