Jefferson County Facilities Law and Justice Remodel Projects

Cator, Ruma & Associates provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology design and contract administration services for Jefferson County. This design/build project included space reconfiguration for additional courtrooms, jury rooms and boxes, judges chambers, toilet rooms, a conference room, probation department, and remodeling Justice Services, DA Investigator, and Victim Witness areas.

The existing VAV air-handling system was modified to accommodate the new space layout. Plumbing was provided for the new toilet rooms. LED lighting sources were implemented throughout. Existing fluorescent luminaries were relocated to suit the space plan rearrangement and where those spaces are connected to other unaffected areas. New low voltage lighting controls components, consisting of dimming switches, occupancy/vacancy sensors, and daylight harvesting controls were deployed throughout the renovation areas and where required by the current energy code.
