Cator, Ruma & Associates was selected to provide mechanical and electrical design and contract administration services for the expansion and renovation of the existing Campbell County Detention Center and the addition of a county Coroner’s office.
Cator, Ruma & Associates was selected to provide mechanical and electrical design and contract administration services for the expansion and renovation of the existing Campbell County Detention Center and the addition of a county Coroner’s office.
This project involved building additions of approximately 50,000 square feet including a 140-bed housing addition, 16 new juvenile detention beds, 911 dispatch, medical, intake/release, vehicle sally port, and expanded kitchen and laundry. An additional 16,000 square feet of remodel was provided for the Sheriff’s administration area, video visitation and support spaces.
HVAC modifications included providing two (2) dedicated, redundant computer room air conditioning units (CRAC) for the server room. The Central Plant was completely renovated with new high-efficiency condensing boilers, chillers, water heaters, distribution, generator and electrical service and switchgear.
As part of this project, a county Coroner’s office was added. The office includes a two-bay autopsy suite.
