Project description
This project consists of three new residential buildings at Colorado State University with capacity to house 1,000 students. Totaling 380,000 square feet, the development includes furnished student apartments, three community centers with shared kitchens, four meeting rooms, and nineteen study lounges. The five-story Aggie Village Redevelopment is the largest housing project constructed at CSU.
The design intent for the residential complex was to create a global community for students seeking an intercultural living experience. The population includes international students, graduate students, visiting scholars, post-doctoral fellows, and upper-division undergraduates. Design considerations emphasized community-building and accessibility, including walkable connections to campus, accommodations for alternative transportation such as bike racks and nearby transit stops, and future provisions for an on-site car-share program aligned with CSU’s sustainability goals.
Each residence hall achieved LEED Gold certification and incorporates sustainable engineering systems such as full condensing boilers, an evaporative-cooled chiller, and LED lighting with advanced power controls, supporting the university’s commitment to high-performance and energy-efficient campus development.
