Services:

Colorado Mountain College embarked on a major campus upgrade that included two new buildings and a comprehensive renovation of the student commons. The new Ascent Center creates a welcoming first impression for prospective students, providing orientation, admissions, financial aid, counseling, offices, classrooms, a bookstore, and student services within a 12,000-square-foot facility. The building features a VAV air-handling system with DX cooling, high-efficiency hot-water heating, and energy-efficient LED lighting designed to complement the exposed wood structure and enhance the campus arrival experience.

A new fitness center was constructed to support student wellness and athletic programming, replacing an outdated facility within the student center. The 44,000-square-foot, two-story building includes convertible basketball courts, a running track, cardio and weight areas, an outdoor activity room, a concessions space, and a signature two-story climbing wall. Mechanical systems include two rooftop units serving a VAV air-handling system, high-efficiency condensing boilers, and specialized LED lighting strategies tailored for sports and recreation.

The student commons renovation addressed long-standing circulation challenges by reconnecting the building’s two wings and relocating fitness and student services to the new facilities. The former gymnasium was partially infilled to create a two-story kitchen and dining area, while other spaces were transformed into a lounge and community areas. Together, these improvements modernized the campus core and enhanced the student experience.
