Case Study :
Children’s Hospital Colorado East Tower Addition

450,000ft²

The Children’s Hospital Colorado East Tower Addition consists of a 124-bed, ten-story expansion on the Fitzsimons campus, designed to accommodate increasing patient volumes and support future growth. The project also included two shelled diagnostic and treatment (D&T) floors and three shelled patient tower floors for planned future build-outs. Mechanical and electrical infrastructure was designed with capacity and configuration to support the full future build-out of all shelled diagnostic, treatment, and patient care spaces.

The new tower delivers a comprehensive range of specialized clinical services, including laboratory facilities; The Heart Institute with catheterization labs, hybrid operating rooms, and cardiovascular operating rooms; the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU); the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU); the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU); and Maternal Fetal services with C-section operating rooms and Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum rooms. It also includes a dedicated BMT/Oncology inpatient floor.
