Project description
Cator, Ruma & Associates (CRA) provided full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology engineering services for the replacement of Englewood Schools’ Cherrelyn Elementary School, a new approximately 42,000 SF facility constructed following demolition of the existing building
CRA delivered design and construction administration services through Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Contract Administration phases, developing coordinated construction documents in Revit and supporting the project from early design through final punch list and record drawings Mechanical and plumbing services included HVAC and plumbing system design, load calculations, energy analysis, life-cycle cost evaluations, and preparation of performance specifications for fire protection systems Electrical design encompassed primary and secondary distribution, interior and site lighting, receptacle layouts, fire alarm systems, and required short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies Across disciplines, CRA supported bidding, value engineering coordination, submittal review, construction observations, and preparation of record drawings.
In addition, CRA provided comprehensive low-voltage and technology design, including structured cabling, wireless LAN, access control, video surveillance, public address, intercom, digital signage, and cable pathway coordination The result was a fully integrated MEPT system design supporting the delivery of a modern, code-compliant, and energy-conscious elementary school facility.
