Cator, Ruma & Associates was selected to provide the mechanical, electrical design and contract administration for the remodel and addition of Platte Valley School District’s Revere Jr-Sr High School and Revere Elementary School. The project included a major HVAC replacement and lighting upgrade. As the original school is over 90 years old, the existing HVAC and electrical infrastructure presented challenges to the design team.

Project description

This project set out to balance preservation with progress. The goal was clear: bring the school’s aging infrastructure into the modern era without erasing what made it iconic. Through early design collaboration and a few clever discoveries, the team introduced a geothermal HVAC system that delivers high performance while reducing energy use.

At the same time, updated electrical and lighting systems give the school modern reliability and flexibility. The result is a seamless blend of past and present. It is now a space that honors its Art Deco roots while serving the evolving needs of students and staff for years to come.
